Kootenai Health, a regional health care provider in northern Idaho and eastern Washington, has purchased North Idaho Gastroenterology medical practice in Coeur d'Alene.
The practice’s sister facility North Idaho Endoscopy Center will be taken over in January 2014.
Kootenai Health chief medical officer Walt Fairfax said, "North Idaho Gastroenterology offers important services in northern Idaho. Kootenai is pleased to affiliate with this group and help ensure its continued strength as a practice."
Kootenai said the integration of the GI practice and its endoscopy center is expected to take place over the next 12-15 months.
North Idaho Gastroenterology clinician Gavin Young said the center has worked closely with Kootenai Health for many years.
"By joining Kootenai, we hope to strengthen the network of care available in northern Idaho," Young added.
