KFx Medical president and CEO Tate Scott said this new patent further increases the value and importance of KFx Medical’s patent portfolio for the clinically important area of knotless double row rotator cuff repair.
"With each patent, we demonstrate our ongoing commitment to innovation in orthopaedic surgery so that our investors and employees may be rewarded for their contributions," Scott said.
The company said in 2011, an unknown party has filed a request to the USPTO to re-examine its first and seminal patent (US patent no. 7,585,311) which also broadly covers knotless double row rotator cuff repair.
The USPTO has rejected all arguments made by the unknown party and completely upheld the KFx patent.
