Sweden-based Karolinska University Hospital uis set to install Olympus Endoalpha control system for 35 operating rooms.

Currently under construction in central Stockholm, the hospital is expected to commence operations in 2016.

Olympus Europa medical systems division managing director Frank Drewalowski said: "We are very much looking forward to working together with the Karolinska University Hospital on the hospital of the future.

"This partnership represents more than just Olympus’ largest ever cooperation with a medical facility in the field of Systems Integration. It is proof that our solutions are breaking new ground and, in doing so, providing medical staff and OR managers with the systems they need."

Endoalpha is an integrated platform, developed for controlling every medical device in the operating room and simplifying communication processes.

The system will allow medical personnel to coordinate and monitor every medical device installed in the operating room, ranging from video cameras to lighting and 3D endoscopes.

Endoalpha control system will be integrated within the hospital’s own information system, in order to access patient profiles anywhere in the hospital.
