The Kick system, which includes FluoroExpress software module, allows intraoperative viewing of instrumentation and implants relative to patient anatomy to permit proper pedicle screw placement.
DePuy Synthes has collaborated with Brainlab to expand access to advanced visualization through the Kick system.
Featuring a small, portable infrared camera with a computer and monitor, the system will move between operating rooms and works together with existing X-ray equipment to support surgical workflow.
The Kick system is compatible with the Viper system and Expedium spine system of implants, helping to improve visualization during minimally invasive and open procedures for treating a wide range of spinal disorders.
The company is showcasing the system at the North American Society Spine Meeting (NASS) in Boston, which is being held from 26 to 29 October.
