Ivoclar Vivadent, a provider of various dental systems, has announced the take over of a supplier of dental products, Wieland Dental, for an undisclosed sum.
Wieland’s commercial products, in addition to individual laboratory concepts and systems solutions, include CAD/CAM materials, dental alloys and veneering ceramics up to electroplating.
The acquisition enables Ivoclar Vivadent to strengthen and expand its business in all-ceramic products.
Ivoclar Vivadent CEO Robert Ganley said, "Wieland Dental is a leading European manufacturer in the field of dental products with market leading brands and a strong sales team."
The transaction, which is subjected to approval by the German Federal Cartel Office, is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012.
