Iowa Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center has selected Greenway Medical Technologies as a preferred EHR solution for its statewide deployment program within the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) REC healthcare grant program.

Iowa Health said that Greenway was selected for its $21.7m program by the New York City REC, administered by the NYC Regional Electronic Adoption Center for Health (NYC REACH) in April, followed in June by selection for the state of New York’s $26.5m REC grant administered by the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC).

Greenway said that the national HHS REC program has granted $598m to establish 60 centers linking group practices, community health centers and related healthcare organisations through two-year grants to deploy EHRs in those settings to connect healthcare organisations and establish meaningful use functionality.

Kim Downs, senior director of operations at IFMC, said: “We are confident that our preferred EHR providers can help more than 1200 physicians, physician’s assistants and nurse practitioners throughout the state of Iowa.”

Tee Green, president and CEO of Greenway, said: “Greenway is very gratified to be a preferred solution partner of the Iowa HITREC.”

Greenway Medical Technologies is a provider of the single-database, integrated electronic health record (EHR), practice management and interoperability solution PrimeSuite.
