The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Intuitive Surgical's EndoWrist One Vessel Sealer instrument for use with the da Vinci Si Surgical System.
The company said its EndoWrist One Vessel Sealer is used for bipolar coagulation and mechanical transection of vessels up to 7 mm in diameter and tissue bundles that fit in the jaws of the instrument.
The da Vinci Si surgeons are facilitated to fully control vessel sealing, thus providing enhanced surgical precision, control and stability and 3D HD visualization by using EndoWrist One Vessel Sealer, Intuitive said.
Intuitive Surgical CEO Gary Guthart said they plan to start a controlled rollout of this product in the US in the first quarter of 2012 and also submit for CE mark.
