Intronix Technologies will be collaborating with Western University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to develop technology to be incorporated into rehabilitation devices.

Canadian-based innovator Intronix Technologies will be working with Dr. Ana Luisa Trejos, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Western University, and Associate Scientist at Canadian Surgical Technologies and Advanced Robotics, Lawson Health Research Institute.

"We are extremely grateful to the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Ontario Centres of Excellence for supporting this research and commercialization project," says Dr. Evan Friedman, President of Intronix Technologies.

"We look forward to this collaboration with Dr. Trejos’ research team to develop advanced technologies that will lead to development of new generation Intronix devices that will benefit patients going through their rehabilitation programs. Hundreds of millions of people suffer from musculoskeletal disorders worldwide."

Intronix Technologies is known for producing the Myoguide system. Myoguide Needle EMG Guided Injection System has breakthrough technology that gives practitioners a superior way to deliver targeted injections, by using the patient’s muscle signals to provide ongoing visual and audio feedback during the needle insertion, to help find focal areas responsible for pain and spasticity.

Myoguide is most frequently used to help direct injections with therapeutic Botox. Myoguide uses an innovative signal display and high fidelity audio feedback to help clinicians find the optimal injection sites to help manage myofascial pain and spasticity.

"We are pleased to join forces with Dr. Trejos’ team to benefit from their vast experience. This project will span human subject evaluations to pertinent hardware and software development. We are very fortunate for the opportunity to contribute," says Dr. Evan Friedman, President of Intronix Technologies.
