Illumina has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Complete Genomics in the US District Court for the Southern District of California.

The case was filed against Complete Genomics for continuing to infringe Illumina’s Patent No. 8,192,930, entitled ‘Method for Sequencing a Polynucleotide Template’ and using in its combinatorial probe-anchor ligation read technology.

The suit seeks injunctive relief and damages as remedies for the infringement.

Previously, Illumina filed lawsuit against Complete Genomics in the US District Court for the Northern District of California for infringing its US Patent No. 6,306,597.

The court on 8 February 2012 supported Illumina and issued a claim construction order providing the court’s interpretation of the disputed patent terms against Complete Genomics.
