IDS, a leader in healthcare cloud information services, today announced a partnership with MedCurrent Corporation, a global leader in radiology clinical decision support (CDS) solutions. The seamless integration of MedCurrent’s OrderWise CDS solution into IDS’ AbbaDox platform allows imaging centers to support their referring physicians in meeting the CMS Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) mandate for advanced imaging review, set to begin in January 2020.

With CDS integrated into the AbbaDox Physician Portal and Radiology Information System (RIS), referring providers are able to improve collaboration, health coordination and meet AUC requirements, without having to break their workflow by opening another application.

As a qualified Clinical Decision Support Mechanism (CDSM) by CMS, MedCurrent’s OrderWise CDS platform guides referring clinicians through clinical decision pathways to help them order the right diagnostic imaging tests for their patients at the point of care. OrderWise incorporates diagnostic imaging guidelines from Intermountain Healthcare (IH), the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Foundation—all CMS qualified Provider-Led Entities (qPLEs).

“We are very excited to be partnering with IDS and integrating our platforms to enable physicians to meet regulatory requirements as well as provide their patients with more appropriate, evidence-based care,” said John Adziovsky, CEO of MedCurrent. “Integration with the AbbaDox platform is a natural fit for OrderWise CDS, as it provides an optimized user experience for referring providers within a fully integrated workflow, which translates to better adoption of the new CMS AUC mandate.”

“We remain committed to advancing the digital ecosystem for healthcare by integrating these best-of-breed technologies with the suite of AbbaDox applications. As a result, we are able to offer clients robust and modular solutions that enable organizations to continually evolve and innovate care delivery models that improve care coordination,” said Yaniv Dagan, IDS CEO.
