Humble Surgical Hospital, a multispecialty center in Humble, Texas, US, has purchased Mazor Robotics' surgical guidance system for spine procedures.

By using less radiation, the Renaissance surgical guidance system performs spine procedures including minimally invasive surgery, scoliosis, as well as other complex spinal deformity procedures.

Mazor Robotics chief executive officer Ori Hadomi said as an early adopter of the Renaissance technology, the center represents the medical facility with the utmost dedication to patient base.

"This system sale further confirms the significant value that Renaissance adds to surgical practices, and it marks an outstanding achievement for our product," Hadomi added.

Mazor said the Renaissance system, which has been used in the placement of over 20,000 implants in the US and Europe, has validated the accuracy, usability, and clinical advantages of the robotic technology.
