Healthcare Management Systems (HMS) has received certification from Drummond Group, an Authorized Testing and Certification Body of the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC-ATB).

The HMS electronic health record (EHR) is 2011/2012 compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The certification enables providers to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

HMS president and CEO Tom Stephenson said the company is pleased to offer customers a certified product that will allow them to achieve Stage 1 meaningful use while improving the lives of their patients.

"We understand the challenges facing community hospitals and remain committed to delivering software that meets their needs," Stephenson said.

HMS launched several new products in 2010, including HMS ConnexSM, a required interoperability solution for data reporting, and will soon certify its outpatient ambulatory electronic health record for physicians.
