Hitachi Aloka Medical was formed when Aloka became a 100% subsidiary of Hitachi Medical on 3 March 2011.

Hitachi Aloka Medical America will have responsibility for all sales, service, marketing and clinical application support of Aloka America ultrasound equipment and Hitachi ultrasound systems of Twinsburg, OH-based Hitachi Medical Systems America.

The company, which sells a full line of MR and CT products in the US, will continue to provide service support to Hitachi Aloka Medical to leverage the strengths of both organizations in the market.

David Famiglietti is named as GM of Hitachi Aloka Medical America.

Famiglietti has more than three decades experience in the medical device/healthcare industry, most recently serving as COO of Aloka America.

Famiglietti will oversee business operations in the US and Canada.

Famiglietti said they aim to increase presence in the radiology, surgery, cardiology, women’s health, OB/GYN, radiation oncology and urology ultrasound markets in the US, as well as to enter new markets by developing and delivering beneficial breakthrough technologies that improve healthcare, reduce costs and increase efficiencies.

Hitachi Medical Systems America CEO and president Don Broomfield said combining the Aloka product line with the complementary Hitachi product line will allow Hitachi Aloka Medical to broaden their participation and penetration of this large and diverse market in an integrated fashion.
