Helix Medical, a division of the Freudenberg Group, has inaugurated a new17,300ft² manufacturing facility in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
The new facility will provide packaging and validation, design and development, silicone and thermoplastic molding, silicone and thermoplastic extrusion, medical component and device assembly, comprehensive engineering resources services.
Helix Medical president and CEO Jorg Schneewind said, "The pro-business environment, skilled workforce, and strategic location made Costa Rica a natural choice for our company, and we are excited about being a part of this country’s growing medical device community."
Freudenberg Group management board speaker Mohsen Sohi said, "Adding a location in Costa Rica is an important step in growing our manufacturing capabilities in this market segment."
Costa Rica science and technology minister Alejandro Cruz said, "This confirms Costa Rica’s high standards of quality and its sophisticated workforce, which allow medical companies to perform complex manufacturing."
