Hanger Orthopedic Group, Inc. (Hanger) has appointed Vinit K. Asar as its executive vice president and chief growth officer (CGO), effective January 12, 2009. He reports to Hanger president and chief executive officer Thomas F. Kirk. As CGO, Asar will have responsibility for leading the identification, development, and execution of new opportunities for Hanger's existing operations, as well as launching new businesses consistent with the company's overall growth strategy.

Asar comes to Hanger from Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and brings about 20 years of extensive global experience developing new health product and service businesses and growing existing organizations, both organically and through acquisitions. Additionally, Asar has held capacities in finance, global product management, sales and marketing, and product development at J&J. Asar holds a BS in Business Administration from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI and an MBA from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
