Minnesota healthcare provider Glacial Ridge Health System (GRHS) has selected Healthland's ONC-ATCB-certified Electronic Health Records (EHR) solution to improve community wellness.

The new EHR technology helps to improve community wellness and Healthland provides a single repository for all patient information that can be accessed across the continuum of care, enabling healthcare providers to alert a patient when they are due for specific appointments such as check-ups and immunizations.

In addition, departments such as pharmacy are now paperless, bringing increased efficiencies to patients.

The healthcare provider expects to meet Stage 1 incentives for meaningful use of certified EHR technology, as described in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), in spring 2011.

GRHS CIO Heidi Engle said the company has always been an early adopter of technology because our patients and community deserve the best quality healthcare we can provide.

"An EHR solution that meets meaningful use requirements helps us provide our patients with better quality healthcare. Today all of our patient records are in one place and include data from both hospital and clinic visits," Engle said.
