W L Gore & Associates' (Gore) Gore ExcluderAAA Endoprosthesis' contralateral leg component new diameter sizes of 23 mm and 27 mm have received the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval.

The Gore ExcluderAAA Endoprosthesis is an endovascular stent-graft that seals off the abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and creates a new path for blood flow.

University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Vascular Surgery professor and chair Michel Makaroun said by adding new diameter options to the Gore Excluder device, patients with large iliac arteries can now be treated with fewer components.

Gore Aortic Business leader David Abeyta said the availability of new diameter Gore Excluder Device components expands the use of this device to a wider range of anatomical considerations.
