Globus Medical, a musculoskeletal solutions company, has acquired Nemaris, a privately held company that develops and markets surgical planning software platform known as Surgmap.

Surgimap supports healthcare professionals in simulating surgical outcomes and to share medical imaging for improved workflow and patient care.
Globus Medical stated that Surgimap’s patient specific surgical planning and cloud-based infrastructure with predictive algorithms and visual guides has been licensed to several spine implant manufacturers and is claimed to be supporting in planning and simulation of potential surgical outcomes in the course of treating complex deformities.
The musculoskeletal solutions company believes that the addition of Surgimap will strengthen its ExcelsiusGPS platform by streamlining workflow and enabling data analytics. By integrating Surgimap’s team into Globus Medical, the company expects to develop new products in imaging, navigation, and robotics.

In July, Globus Medical expanded its orthopedic trauma product portfolio with the addition of two new products: the ANTHEM Ankle Fracture System and the ANTHEM Proximal Humerus Fracture System.
Founded in 2003, Globus Medical offers complete suite products for spinal surgery. The company is based in Audubon, Pennsylvania.
