GE Healthcare has appointed Jan De Witte, the current president and CEO of Performance Solutions division, as president and CEO of its Healthcare IT business.

The move mirrors GE’s $6bn ‘healthymagination’ strategy to deliver better health, for more people at a better cost.

De Witte, who reports to GE Healthcare president and CEO John Dineen, succeeds Vishal Wanchoo who was recently named senior vice president of Growth Initiatives for GE India.

He has served in a number of strategic technology and business leadership roles since he joined GE in 1999.

He has a diverse background in services, digital business strategy, supply chain, manufacturing, quality and Lean Six Sigma.

Previously Jan led GE Healthcare’s $1.2bn Services business across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, a role that also oversaw the company’s regional Healthcare IT businesses.

Dineen said having a single leader like Jan De Witte lead both businesses sends a visible signal to their customers that GE Healthcare is dedicated to growing its IT and solutions offerings, providing them with a unique partner that can deliver the strategic advice they need.

Healthcare IT, a $1.4bn segment of GE Healthcare, is a technology driver for GE Healthcare, delivering a broad portfolio of information technology solutions from the physician’s office to the integrated delivery network through business, clinical, and imaging applications covering settings.

Performance Solutions provides the healthcare industry with new ways of organizing, measuring, and managing health care delivery over the full cycle of patient care.
