Gardner Denver’s Medical Group has completed the acquisition of US-based TriContinent Scientific, for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Grass Valley of California, TriContinent produces OEM precision syringe pumps that can be used by the medical and biotechnology diagnostic and analytics equipment manufacturers.

Gardner Denver Medical Group CEO Patrick Bennett said: "The technology and portfolio of TriContinent Scientific is a perfect strategic fit for Gardner Denver’s Medical Group.

"With the addition of both a fantastic team and product set to our business, we are now able to extend our customer offerings to include liquid handling systems."

The company is involved in producing five product lines, including precision pumps, valves and syringes, XYZ robotics, microplate washers and manifolds, in addition to the pipettes and dispensers.

Gardner Denver intends to incorporate TriContinent Scientific’s business and products under the name TriContinent, which will allow the company to offer complete solutions for its OEM and laboratory customers.

TriContinent Scientific CEO Lee Carter said: "By accessing the longstanding distribution network of our new owner, we will be able to supply our highly sophisticated pumps and robots to an even broader, global customer base."

With seven manufacturing facilities in the US, Europe and Asia, Gardner Denver Medical produces flow control products for medical, life sciences and selected other industries.
