The integration of Fujinon, which had been previously operated as a subsidiary of the medical systems company, will aid in the development of a variety of diagnostic imaging systems.
FMSU president and CEO Naohiro Fujitani said the merger marks the company’s commitment to the continued development and expansion of their medical portfolio and supports its mission of helping to provide healthcare experiences that enhance the quality of life for their patients.
As part of the merger, Nagata will join FMSU’s Executive Leadership Team as the division president of the company’s Endoscopy Division.
Fujinon’s advanced technologies include flexible video endoscope, high-resolution CCD Super Image flexible video endoscope, High Definition flexible endoscopes, and double balloon endoscopy.
Fujifilm’s medical systems products include digital radiography solutions for nearly every conventional x-ray need including flat panel detectors, portable systems, room replacements and full field digital mammography and the Synapse line of medical informatics products.
