Fujifilm Medical Systems has obtained modular electronic health record (EHR) accreditation for meaningful use for radiology for its Synapse RIS Version 6.1.

Synapse RIS Version 6.1 comprises an enhanced dashboard which gives the user an ability to better manage performance in real time.

Version 6.1 also includes Synapse Financials for RIS, which provides a seamless option of incorporating the billing process into the system and a feature that will alert the user to dose management concerns for the patient.

Fujifilm medical informatics vice president Jim Morgan said having received modular certification for the company’s Synapse RIS is a tangible step towards receiving complete certification.

"This means that our radiology clients can address their meaningful use requirements that ensure an improved workflow and allow them to more quickly qualify for the incentives set forth by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).

"Additionally, Version 6.1, our latest RIS, enables them to use improved tools to pre-set and manage patient dose and offers a new financial management optimization feature designed to improve facility operations."
