Fujifilm Medical Systems USA has introduced Synapse Mobility, a zero footprint application that enables access to Fujifilm's suite of Synapse products from hand-held mobile devices, as well as Macintosh- or Windows-based PCs.

Fujifilm said that using the Web browser of their choice, radiologists and referring physicians can have on-the-go access to the images and information stored in Synapse PACS, Synapse RIS and Synapse Cardiovascular, increasing accessibility to patient information and improving workflow.

Synapse Mobility’s differentiator feature enables to display quality, interactive three Dimensional images not just static flash files in any platform that it’s accessed, including on iPads, iPhones and Android Smartphones, the company said.

Additionally, it also enables images to be manipulated using the zoom, window and level, and MIP/MPR within the application, just as the physician would do at a clinical workstation.

Fujifilm Medical Informatics vice president Jim Morgan said that with Synapse Mobility, Fujifilm is further enhancing the delivery of care by enabling physicians to view the same high quality, interactive images that could be seen at a Synapse workstation, but now in a convenient, readily accessible form factor.
