Pittsburgh-based Foundation Radiology Group (FRG), a provider of diagnostic imaging professional services, has entered into a strategic partnership with Acusis, a national provider of outsourced medical transcription services for hospitals, clinics and physician practices.

FRG brings the subspecialty expertise of a team of radiologists to community hospitals using a combination of on-site radiology and teleradiology services.

FRG said that the services allow smaller, rural hospitals to offer the same level of expertise as larger, urban hospitals and to keep funds in their local medical communities.

Tom Skelton, CEO of FRG, said: “From our point of view, this partnership has several key benefits. First and foremost, the Acusis model allows us to provide our valued partners with a higher quality, final report. Increasing the quality of what we do is always a topmost priority for us.

“In addition, this collaborative relationship with Acusis enables our radiologists to focus their time and energy on the diagnostic aspect of radiology, without the added strain of editing reports. It’s about working smarter in order to better serve our clients and their patients and this partnership will help us to do that.”

Ray Dyer, CEO of Acusis, said: “We are proud to partner with a company that is making positive changes to the landscape of healthcare. FRG is changing the way that radiology services are delivered, and we are happy to help them bring an even higher quality product to their clients.”

Acusis delivers healthcare solutions that are designed to improve the productivity and efficiency of medical practitioners by delivering transcriptions within predefined turnaround times.
