No allegations were filed against FME or RCG, nor were any fines, penalties, or changes in policy or business practices requested. Fresenius Medical Care and Renal Care Group both received subpoenas in October 2004. Both companies thereafter cooperated fully with the investigation.
Dr. Ben Lipps, chief executive officer of Fresenius Medical Care and chairman of the management board stated, “We are pleased with the outcome of the investigation and the fact that it is now closed.”
