The first European patient has been treated using RaySearch Laboratories' RayStation at Netherlands-based RISO.

RayStation is a treatment planning system which is built on software architecture and has a graphical user interface and features a multi-criteria optimization (MCO) tools with support for 4D adaptive radiation therapy.

RISO medical physicist Rik Westendorp said RayStation is a new system with a lot of interesting features and a modern workflow.

"The system is fast and easy to use and gives us the possibility to create high quality IMRT plans," Westendorp said.
