Burton Medical, a provider of minor surgery lighting equipment, has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its AIM-200 OR light for surgical lighting applications in operating rooms for ambulatory surgical centers as well as acute care facilities.

The AIM-200 OR features a 360-degree rotation in its flexible, self-balancing arm-and-mounting-system, providing maximum reach of 63 inches and a diameter of 10 feet, Burton Medical said.

The AIM-200 is available in four mounting options including floor, wall, single and double ceiling mountings.

The AIM-200 OR is equipped with three 35-watt IRC halogen bulbs, which together produce a 90,000 Lux at a distance of 1m and with a color-rendering index (CRI) of 96 and color temperature of 3700K, to enhance a physician’s vision during minor and major surgery.

The Y-shaped design helps to minimise the obstruction of light into the surgical field, offering a larger and adjustable light pattern without casting shadows. Additional features include an easily replaceable bulb system and a sterilizable handle.
