FDA clears Sientra Silimed-brand silicone breast implants

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared Sientra's portfolio of Silimed-brand silicone breast implants.

Apart from the approved round breast implants in the US, the company is now offering shaped silicone breast implants, with a broad selection of sizes, profiles, projections, and implant surfaces.

Sientra founder and chief executive officer Hani Zeini said the FDA regulatory approval process, coupled with the company’s manufacturing record, provides assurance of safety, quality and reliability to surgeons and patients in the US when choosing from its portfolio of silicone breast implants.
