Ireland-based Actavis has obtained FDA approval for its Natrelle Inspira round gel-filled textured breast implants.
The company has designed the round gel-filled textured breast implants for women to undergo reconstruction and augmentation or revision surgery.
Allergan Medical president Philippe Schaison said: "Natrelle Inspira is just the latest example of our commitment to breast aesthetics and plastic surgery which will continue into the future."
Natrelle Inspira breast implants are indicated for breast augmentation of women who are at least 22 years old for silicone-filled implants and breast reconstruction.
The process comprises primary breast augmentation to enhance breast size and revision surgery to correct or improve the result of a primary breast augmentation.
Breast reconstruction comprises primary reconstruction to replace breast tissue that was removed due to cancer or trauma or that has failed to develop properly due to a severe breast abnormality.
In addition, the reconstruction includes revision surgery to correct or improve the result of a primary breast reconstruction surgery
