FBC Device ApS has received a first US patent covering a series of two piece implants that enable natural spinal alignment.
FBC Device ApS develops new implants to improve treatment of patients with degenerated spinal disorders by optimizing functional outcome and quality of life on long-term basis.
The company’s products include Statur line of spinal interbody fusion implants designed to enable natural balance of the fused spine for patients.
FBC Device ApS founder and CEO Finn Christensen said they invented a two piece interbody fusion device that allows for temporary relative movement between the two components so that the patient’s body by itself can determine the appropriate position for fusion; what they call natural balance.
"This concept holds the promise of improved outcomes, while taking advantage of well-accepted surgical techniques," Christensen said.
