Exactech, a producer of bone and joint restoration products, has introduced Gibralt spinal system.

The Gibralt Spinal System is used as a solution for posterior stabilization and as an adjunct to fusion of the cervical and upper thoracic spine.

Gibralt system features top loading polyaxial screws, hooks, offset connectors, and rod-to-rod connectors which can be built in multiple configurations based on individual patient anatomy.

The pedicle screw with 80 degrees of motion is designed to reduce the risk of tissue impingement in the thoracic spine.

The Tightlok thread technology of the thread offers biomechanical strength, resisting screw pullout.

The company said Gibralt may be connected to lumbar pedicle screw systems, including Proliant and Hydralok with an option of transitional rods and a variety of connectors.

Louisiana State University Health Sciencesclinical neurosurgery associate professor Erich Richter said the EZ Set Polyaxial tulip head and low-profile cross connector allow for flexibility in assembling the construct.
