Environmental Tectonics Corporation, a respiratory device company, (ETC)’s BioMedical Systems Division announced the sale of two BARA-MED XD Monoplace Hyperbaric Chambers to Oasis Hyperbarics, in US. The BARA-MED XD includes a 4th generation Windows based operating system. The company’s computerized system eliminates the need for operator dive time management and paper recordkeeping while ensuring comprehensive documentation of the procedure.

These features enable technicians to focus their attention on patient care and management, making them more effective and efficient.

ETC is delighted to work with Oasis Hyperbarics, a new hyperbaric medical practice run by Eric Brittain, MD and Tim Osbon, MD. Oasis Hyperbarics is affiliated with Hyperbaric Therapy of Low Country in Hilton Head, SC another facility that utilizes BARA-MED XD Monoplace Hyperbaric Chambers.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) is a non-invasive therapy. In its clinical applications, the patient breathes 100% oxygen while fully enclosed in a specially designed chamber at ambient pressures up to three time’s normal atmospheric pressure. HBO is used to promote and support healing in the management of conditions in which oxygen transport to the tissues has been disrupted by traumatic injury, infection, inflammation, or edema.

Gene Davis, president of ETC’s BioMedical Division, commented, “I am very pleased with our sales performance this fiscal year. Through the third quarter, sales were up over 90% from last year. ETC is finally evidencing the benefit of our continuous investment in technology and our Windows™ based operating system.”
