Optical lenses manufacturer Essilor has introduced new Eyezen glasses, specifically developed for digital focused audience.

The new glasses have been designed to provide comfort and protection for people who are on smart phones, tablets and computers for hours at a time.

Essilor America marketing senior vice president Lauri Crawford said: "The technology in Eyezen glasses supports the digitally connected lifestyle of the millennial generation – a lifestyle they aren’t willing to change – by reducing eyestrain and exposure to harmful blue light.

"Eyezen glasses provide comfortable vision while using digital devices, helping you stay connected and be more productive."

Eyezen glasses feature enhanced magnification in the lower portion of the lens, which will reduce eyestrain often caused by viewing text and small screens on devices such as tablets and smart phones.

The glasses also hold capability to selectively filter the harmful blue-violet light emitted by digital devices.

The company said that Eyezen glasses are currently available as spectacle lenses only and will launch an exclusive frame collection in the coming months.

Essilor produces optical lenses under the brand names including Varilux, Crizal, Transitions, Xperio UV, Definity, Thin&Lite and others.
