Epistem has entered into a collaboration agreement with the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) for human Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) identification.

Under the agreement, Epistem and the NPIA will be demonstrating Epistem’s Genedrive molecular device.

The NPIA will use Genedrive to target the amelogenin sex gene and other single tandem repeats (STRs) that create the human DNA fingerprint.

Genedrive is a handheld device which is used in the disease diagnosis and is also used in the identification across a broad spectrum of DNA related areas from human identification for policing purposes to pharmacogenomic use in oncology, virology, ophthalmology and the detection of infectious diseases such as TB, HIV and sexually transmitted disease.
