Elekta, a radiation oncology firm, has announced that it will highlight ongoing improvements to its Mosaiq oncology information system at the upcoming HIMSS 2014 conference, taking place February 23-27, 2014 in Orlando, Florida.

Elekta will showcase new Mosaiq features, including functionality that enables practices to consolidate their records and workflows into a single system, for its US users.

The new functionality will include advanced scheduling tools, improved connectivity to treatment delivery devices, and reporting tools to ensure treatment data are applied to future healthcare decisions, the company said.

An integrated patient portal, ePrescribing, and IQ scripts will all be included, the company added.

Elekta Software senior vice president Richard Stark said this is an important meeting for those of us who are anticipating the IT and health information needs as the US healthcare system continues to consolidate.

"MOSAIQ is the tool of choice for healthcare delivery systems that require a scalable solution that easily integrates with enterprise systems, yet incorporates best-in-class functionality, advanced workflow management tools and redundant safety features designed for cancer treatment centers," Stark added.
