Duke University Health System (DUHS) in Durham, North Carolina, US, has entered into an agreement to implement iSirona's device connectivity solution.

DUHS will utilize iSirona’s technology to deliver patient data from medical devices to its electronic medical record, thus facilitating clinicians with access to patient information and freeing nurses from the burden of hand-entering patient data.

iSirona said its device connectivity solution eliminates the need for proprietary hardware and allows hospitals to better leverage the hardware they already use.

Duke University Health System clinical IT strategy director Kay Lytle said, "This technology will give us additional capabilities to support our delivery of optimal patient care for our patients."
