DR Systems will showcase its cloud-based, complete certified electronic health record (EHR) at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), which will be held at Chicago, US, from 25-30 November 2012.

The solution, eHR for Meaningful Use (MU), works with with RIS, PACS, and EMR as well as features a cloud-based design which enables radiologists who work at multiple locations to easily aggregate their data, a requirement for reporting to CMS.

The company’s MU compliance program is designed to qualify radiologists and anesthesiologists for receiving maximum federal incentive payments, supported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) goals for improved and efficient patient care.

Radiologists who do not comply with meaningful use will be penalized with lower reimbursements from CMS, claims the company.

DR Systems chairman Murray Reicher said the company has enrolled more anesthesiologists in its MU program than all other vendors combined.

"This is one of the only solutions available for meaningful use (MU) compliance for radiologists and other specialists who do not control their information systems in hospitals and imaging centers," Reicher added.

"Like radiologists, anesthesiologists thought they were left out of MU, but now they are adopting our eHR because they see an easy, affordable route to MU compliance, while gaining a tool for far better patient engagement."
