DR Systems, a provider of imaging and information management systems for integrated healthcare networks, hospitals and diagnostic imaging centers, is set to develop an ambulatory imaging-centric EHR.

DR Systems’ imaging-centric EHR will be integrated with the company’s Unity RIS-CVIS-PACS-Reporting platform to eliminate duplicate data entry.

Utilizing open standards and technology, the imaging-centric EHR is based on a solution from the KLAS PACS product category vendor.

DR Systems’ approach enables organizations to integrate patient information and images from multiple departments and data sources into one common platform and database.

DR Systems chairman Murray Reicher said imaging-centric EHR is a vendor-neutral, cloud-based solution that can be used with any RIS, HIS, CVIS as a web-service plug-in, or standalone, so imaging specialists can obtain their incentive bonus and avoid future penalties.

"Instead, the DR System EHR will provide one system that can help specialists reach compliance within the context of medical imaging workflow, and one system that can track compliance in real-time," Reicher said.
