Mindray said that the co-marketing agreement will allow it to more effectively compete in the $320m US anesthesia market.

Mindray North America manufactures, markets and distributes patient monitoring, anesthesia delivery and portable ultrasound devices for the inter-operative anesthesia, post anesthesia, emergency medicine and critical care environments.

DocuSys is a developer of technological solutions for health care providers that enable automated anesthesia care documentation and medication management.

David Gibson, president of Mindray North America, said: “Our philosophy of providing solution-based technologies is underscored by this new business relationship. Our comprehensive peri-anesthesia product offering is further enhanced through the addition of this Anesthesia Information Management System (AIMS) solution.

“The benefits of an AIMS are widely recognized as contributing to improved data management, reduction of documentation errors and enhanced patient safety. The DocuSys interface will enable vital sign and ventilation data to be automatically and continuously documented, reducing the workload associated with manual record keeping, while also providing an enhanced view of a patient’s total physiological condition.”

Robert Watson, president and chief executive officer of DocuSys, said: “We are pleased to join Mindray in this new business relationship. Both companies focus on creating products that permit ease of use in complex environments a philosophy that provides uncomplicated user interfaces to robust, full featured applications and devices.”
