Diversionary Therapy Technologies (DTT) has launched an interactive portable electronic device, ditto dental, for pediatric patients.

The device has patient educational content covering all the dental procedures and utilizes a multi-modal sensory-based distraction medium to engage children.

The device also includes interactive games and immersive stories to engage the patient, while waiting for the procedure.

Diversionary Therapy Technologies president Rob Sale said "Dental procedures can be very intimidating to children so the ditto dental uses child-friendly animation to reduce that anxiety."

DTT has worked with an Australian-based Royal Children’s Hospital to develop a handheld, waterproof device which is used prior to and during painful medical procedures to reduce children’s anxiety.
