Device Technologies has entered into an agreement to distribute Symmetry Surgical's direct surgical product portfolio in Australia and New Zealand.

Symmetry Surgical develops quality surgical instruments and its portfolio includes products of Specialty Surgical Instrumentation (SSi), Olsen Medical and the recently acquired surgical instruments division of Codman & Shurtleff

Device Technologies will provide brands from Symmetry Surgical, formerly Codman Surgical Instruments, and SSi, as per the agreement.

Symmetry Surgical chief operating officer Chris Huntington said through the company’s recent acquisition of the Codman Surgical Instruments portfolio, it has gained strong presence in the Australian marketplace.

"We are excited about the prospects of our strategic agreement with Device Technologies and believe the strength of this partnership will drive further growth of our existing business and open new distribution channels for Symmetry Surgical’s other leading brands," Huntington added.
