Deka Medical has reported the immediate availability of High-Powered SmartXide DOT HP Fractional CO2 laser to aesthetic physicians. Deka said that the laser, with average power of 50W, can attain irradiance of up to 250W of power with each pulse.

Deka Medical claimed that the SmartXide DOT HP is the first system that offers independent modulation of both energy and dwell time. The laser enables aesthetic physicians to control both depth of tissue treated along with the degree to which the tissue is treated.

The SmartXide DOT HP enables clinicians to precisely tailor a treatment to each patient’s specific needs. It is the tool used for superficial treatment to improve skin tone and texture, or a deep wrinkle reduction treatment.

According to Deka Medical, the SmartXide DOT, with the ability to penetrate deeper into tissue with a single pulse, is an ideal platform for treatment of burn scars, traumatic scars, and surgical scars. Studies are underway comparing the benefits of the SmartXide DOT for scar revision.

Dale Koop, CEO of Deka Medical, said: “With this system, physicians can now attain the high peak powers needed for safe, effective and comfortable deep wrinkle reduction treatments. Combined with our unique Smart Pulse Technology, the SmartXide DOT HP is the clear leader in fractional CO2 technology.”

San Francisco-based Deka Medical is the North American division of the El En Group, a worldwide provider of the laser market. In addition to the SmartXide DOT, Deka Medical markets the Synchro HP, PhotoSilk, MiniSilk and Excilite lasers for aesthetic treatments such as vein erasure, hair removal, photorejuvenation, wrinkle reduction, skin tightening, and vitiligo.
