American provider of kidney care services DaVita HealthCare Partners kidney care arm DaVita has teamed up with Taiwanese firm Riches Healthcare (RHC) to form a new entity DaVita Taiwan.

Under the joint venture terms, DaVita Taiwan will provide dialysis services to selective clinics in and around Taipei, which are being serviced by RHC.

Marking DaVita’s entry into Taiwan, the new entity will serve a total of four clinics, which have a combined number of 88 stations and 250 patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment.

DaVita chief operating officer Dennis Kogod said the expansion of company’s presence into Taiwan marks a key milestone in its long-term growth strategy in Asia.

DaVita president of Asia Pacific Atul Mathur said, "This acquisition is an exciting opportunity not only to expand into Taiwan, but also to do so with a well-respected and highly experienced team."

"With the addition of this JV, DaVita is now serving patients in five countries across the Asia Pacific region," Mathur added.
