Digital therapeutics company DarioHealth (Dario) has announced a partnership with Dexcom to integrate its digital multi-chronic condition platform into the latter’s real-time continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology.

Dexcom CGM enables people with diabetes to make decisions about their health in real-time by using a small, wearable sensor to continuously measure and report glucose levels to a receiver or smart device.

In December 2022, Dexcom received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its next-generation Dexcom G7 CGM System.

The collaboration between Dario and Dexcom enables the direct integration of Dexcom CGM data into the former’s metabolic solution. It will allow users of the wearable device to access Dario’s individualised digital therapeutic support.

Dario said that its integrated digital health solution offers tailored support for those with chronic diseases by utilising behavioural, engagement, and clinical data.

Dexcom CGMs and Dario’s proprietary smart meter, which take data from glucose monitoring devices, may now be used to create a highly customised treatment journey. The integration enables users to be guided with an effective course of action, the digital therapeutics company claimed.

Dario president Rick Anderson said: “Nearly two million people use a continuous glucose monitor today, and the ability to capture that data in Dario’s platform expands our ability to deliver a dynamic, highly relevant experience to more people living with diabetes.

“It’s an exciting development that will ultimately benefit every Dario member as the CGM data enriches our overall data ecosystem.”

The digital therapeutics firm said that the integration partnership with Dexcom is based on the collaboration with Sanofi US that it announced last year. The Sanofi partnership aims to create an ecosystem of dedicated technology partners and digital medicines solutions.

Anderson said: “We’re proud of our ongoing collaboration with Sanofi US which is helping Dario to establish new innovations to meet the needs of our customers and members as demonstrated by this Dexcom integration.”

DarioHealth offers a range of solutions to deliver personalised and dynamic interventions driven by data analytics for diabetes, hypertension, musculoskeletal pain, weight management, and behavioural health.
