The FDA-cleared AutoloGel system is designed for the production of autologous platelet rich plasma (PRP) for use in wound management.

At the Native American Wound Care Conference, which held at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, Cabazon, California, US from 8 – 9 October 2012, Laurie Rappl of Cytomedix discussed about AutoloGel system and the outcomes achieved using a physiologic concentration of PRP Gel in chronic wounds of all etiologies.

At the Diabetic Limb Salvage Conference, which held at JW Marriott, Washington, D.C, US on 11 October 2012, a study was conducted to look at evidence-based treatment outcomes in 39 Japanese patients with 40 complex wounds and severe ulcerations.

The results showed that 83% of severe, complex wounds, including Wagner III and IV wounds in patients with diabetes and moderate to severe arteriosclerotic obliterans (ASO), healed completely.

The company said the product will be featured at the Diabetic Limb Salvage Conference until 13 October 2012.
