CVRx has chosen ON Semiconductor's technology and manufacturing services to apply on its Barostim neo.

Barostim neo is an implantable anti-hypertensive barostimulation device used for the treatment of hypertension.

The use of ON Semiconductor’s analog, digital and mixed-signal semiconductor solutions allowed CVRx to achieve the required reliability and device performance during extensive pre-production testing.

CVRx said the use of ON Semiconductor’s design kits and intellectual property, as well as layout and foundry services, compressed its development cycle.

The Barostim neo contains three ON Semiconductor devices including a analog C5 process device, a digital control application-specific integrated circuit and a 8 megabit medical memory ASSP deigned to achieve low-power operation as well as to support long operational life.

CVRx research, development and operations vice president Joe DuPay said, "By combining our own core expertise with ON Semiconductor’s knowledge, experience and product longevity support in the demanding medical semiconductor market, we shortened the product development cycle while setting the highest standards in very low-power, reliable design."
