CSI Laboratories, a cancer diagnostic laboratory which focuses on the needs of pathologists and community hospitals, has appointed Heather Creran as new president and chief executive officer (CEO).

Creran has held the role of president and chief operating officer (COO) of CSI Laboratories for the past three years and has served in executive positions with several national laboratories prior to joining CSI.

Creran spent 14 years with IMPATH including five years as vice president of Operations.

She was appointed as an executive vice president and COO of Clarient and transformed the company from an instrumentation manufacturer into a national anatomic pathology laboratory.

CSI Laboratories chairman and founder Ron Ghafary said under her management, CSI Laboratories has become a recognized provider in oncology testing.

The company provides diagnostic testing in flow cytometry, cytogenetic analysis, fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH), immunohistochemistry, molecular genetics and consultations in the areas of hematopathology and surgical pathology.
