Covidien has purchased Trendlines Group's Misgav Venture Accelerator portfolio company, PolyTouch Medical.

PolyTouch Medical has developed a PatchAssist device designed for the placement and deployment of mesh during laparoscopic soft tissue repair procedures.

PatchAssist was further developed to become AccuMesh, an endomechanical device designed for insertion, deployment and placement of mesh during laparoscopic ventral hernia repair.

Trendlines Group chairman and CEO Steve Rhodes said apart from PolyTouch, the company has acquired other Israeli companies including ETView and FlowSense.

"Since the establishment of The Trendlines Group in 2007, more than $140 million has been invested in our portfolio companies – above and beyond the investments made by Trendlines," Rhodes added.
