Cook Medical has entered into two contracts with HealthTrust Purchasing Group, a group purchasing organisation supporting not-for-profit and for-profit acute care facilities as well as ambulatory surgery centers, physician practices and alternate care sites.

Under the three-year agreements, effective 1 October 2010, Cook Medical will supply HealthTrust members with its full line of endoscopic devices intended to treat a wide range of gastrointestinal (GI) diseases, and enteral feeding products.

The firms said that the members will have access to improved pricing accuracy, increased shipping efficiency, simplified ordering and reimbursement support.

Cook Medical Endoscopy business unit global leader Barry Slowey said that health-care providers are seeking measures that will enable them to offer patients high quality care in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

“We are pleased to provide our full line of endoscopic devices and enteral products to HealthTrust Purchasing Group members, while reducing costs in the delivery supply chain. We look forward to building on this partnership to expand collaboration opportunities,” Slowey said.
