The new features added to the Solea include a 1.00 mm-XC (coarse cut) spot size and an improved 1.00mm spot size (standard cut), as well as 2.4.0 automatic software upgrade.

Convergent Dental CEO Michael Cataldo said: "Solea’s unique wavelength and computer controls enable us to offer unmatched versatility, precision and speed for our dentists.

"We believe we have just scratched the surface of Solea’s potential and are looking forward to pushing the technology’s boundaries."

The new spot sizes will allow dentists to minimize the use of the traditional drill and deliver virtually anesthesia-free and blood-free procedures.

The new 1.00 mm-XC spot size removes dental tissue faster than 1.25 mm-XC spot size in a smaller and more precise pattern, while the 1.00mm (standard cut) spot size replaces the original 1mm spot and ablates faster and smoother than its predecessor.

Convergent has exhibited the latest Solea features at CDA Presents San Francisco 2015, which was held between 20 and 22 August.
